Prioritising brain health is crucial to avoid fatalities: APNSA Chief Dr Vijaya

World Brain Day, held on 22 July, aims to raise awareness about neurological illnesses. Brain Health and Disability Leave No One Behind is a topic proposed by the World Federation of Neurology and endorsed by the Indian Academy of Neurology for 2023. The AP Neuroscientists Association plans several events to raise awareness about brain health in Lalitha Super Speciality Hospitals, educational institutions, and social media. According to WHO, over 100 million people worldwide have neurological disabilities, including brain stroke, migraine, dementia, meningitis, and epilepsy. However, with proper understanding and education, neurological problems can be treated, avoided, and healed.

“Maintaining good brain health is crucial for mental, physical, and social well-being. A balanced diet, proper sleep cycle, regular physical exercises, and positive thoughts are essential for maintaining good brain health,” commented Dr Vijaya, Chief, APNSA.
