Women’s Christian College conducted its Rolling Trophy Tournament for about 16 colleges, on 9th Aug 2023, on the college grounds. There were 5 sporting events lined up, namely Chess, Volleyball, Throwball, Ball Badminton and Tennis. The inaugural ceremony took place at 7.30 am in the indoor Basketball court. The event was coordinated by the Physical Directors of WCC, Dr. Agnes Vijayarani and Dr. Naveena Priya. The MC was Felcia Jasper and the welcome address was delivered by Chrislin Celsiya (Shift II CPG).
The students were dressed in sports uniforms, representing their respective colleges, and were accompanied by their coaches. All five events were conducted simultaneously in the campus. Despite the scorching sun at noon, the girls were fiercely competitive and energetic.
The valedictory function took place at 5:30 pm. Dr. Anne Beryl Catherine (Dean of Academic Affairs and HOD of B. Com General) was the chief guest.
The Trophies were bagged by the following colleges: MOP Vaishnav College for Women (1st in Chess, Volleyball, Ball Badminton and Tennis); Women’s Christian College (1st in Throwball, 2nd in Ball Badminton and Tennis, 3rd in Chess and Volleyball); Justice Basheer Ahmed Sayeed College for Women (2nd in Volleyball, 3rd in Throwball, Ball Badminton); Stella Maris College (2nd in Chess); Guru Nanak College(2nd in Throwball); Chellammal Women’s College (3rd in Tennis).
The results were announced on the same day and everything was perfectly organised by the coordinators of WCC. In conclusion, the sports coordinator of Shift I, Aneesa, proposed the vote of thanks.
