The MMA concert at Women's Christian College on August 9th, 2023, wowed the audience with incredible performances and a harmonious collaboration between the WCC and MMA choirs.
The highly anticipated MMA concert took place at Women's Christian College, featuring an incredible line-up of performances. The evening began with a soulful invocation song, "The Lord's Prayer" by Charles Garner, setting the tone for the evening. The MMA symphony orchestra took the stage, captivating the audience with their extraordinary musical talent.
One of the highlights of the evening was the special performance by the WCC Choir. They rendered two songs, "Agnus Dei/How Great Thou Art," accompanied by Ms. Eugene Briana, pianist of the WCC Choir, and "Let Your Glory/I Sing Praises," accompanied by the pianist and student choir coordinator, Ms. Hannah Jane. Both songs were trained by Ms.Tabitha Edwin, staff coordinator of WCC Choir. WCC Choir, along with the ladies from MMA, moved the audience with their heartfelt rendition of "Let There Be Peace" by Sy Miller and Jill Jackson. Ms. Cathlin Esther, Guest Lecturer from the English department and also a member of MMA, performed a captivating solo of Domine Deus.
As the concert drew to a close, the audience was treated to a beautiful rendition of John Rutter's "The Lord Bless You and Keep You," filling everyone with a sense of peace and serenity. Mr. Clement Sastriyar, the concertmaster, led the orchestra under the guidance of Mr. Augustine Paul, the conductor. The concert was accompanied by the talented Mr. Jeremiah Christopher.
A member of the audience shared her admiration, stating, "Tonight, WCC delivered a fantastic performance, and the collaboration with MMA is truly impressive." Additionally, a parent in attendance commented, "This is, by far, the finest performance I've witnessed from WCC."
