Students participating in the Food Photography competition and the Photo exhibition of Nuance’23
The Departments of Physics and Visual Communication of Women’s Christian College conducted photography competitions on the 18th and 19th of August to celebrate World Photography Day.
A Food Photography Competition was organised by the Department of Physics in collaboration with Nestle on the 18th of August. Students presented novel dishes and captured interesting snaps of them. This event was unique because it was a fusion of food and photography. “Students were impressed by the idea of incorporating Food Photography in Physics. Their eager involvement gave the department a fillip,” said the faculty coordinator of the event.
Yet another interesting event, Nuance’23, was conducted by the Department of Visual Communication on 18th and 19th of August. This event comprised a Photo Marathon and Digital Poster Making competition. The Photo Marathon, an on-campus event with about 60 participants, themed “A Day in WCC,” happened on the first day. It had the feel of a photography festival, with students carrying their gadgets and DSLR cameras, and freezing moments on campus. The follow-up event, Digital Poster Making, which was held online, focused on 'Navarasas’, the 9 Emotions. Nuance '23 was “a huge triumph, showcasing students' talents and receiving enthusiastic participation”, said one of the students of VisCom Department. Photographs that had made it to the finals were exhibited in the Science Block, thus offering a visual treat to the students of WCC.
